Connor Smythe signs for Sedge from Worksop Town

Liversedge FC are delighted to welcome 26-year-old left-back, Connor Smythe, who arrives from fellow NPL East Division side Worksop Town.

The defender, who can also play further up the field on the left-hand side, is a product of Scunthorpe United’s youth system and captained their U18 side.

He has been an ever-present for the Tigers this season, making 24 appearances with 17 of those being in the league. He has also chipped in with two goals.

Smythe first joined Worksop in 2014, also having spells with Boston United, Rainworth Miners Welfare, Handsworth Parramore, AFC Mansfield, Pontefract Collieries, and Gainsborough Trinity.

Despite spells elsewhere, he has often found his way back to Sandy Lane and as a result he brought-up his half-century of appearances in October 2021.

The left-footer is a very welcome addition to the Clayborn Ground and can go straight into the squad against Hebburn Town.

Welcome Connor, we look forward to seeing you in the blue and white!

Connor has already been sponsored for this season in the name of Beau’s Fight Against Cancer. Find out more about Beau’s campaign:
