Liversedge Vs Warrington Rylands Match Report

“Ten men Sedge suffers a 5-2 home defeat, keeping them in the bottom four of the NPL Premier Division”

Liversedge opened the scoring early on as Nathan Cartman got on the scoresheet again. Still, the lead would only hold on for seven minutes as Warrington winger Kane Drummond scored the equaliser.

Five minutes later, debutant Zac Dearnley would pull his side back in front with a well executed goal.

Twelve minutes into the second half and Warrington levelled the score thanks to a Callum Dolan finish.

The Sedge had a great opportunity to be ahead for the third time as Ben Atkinson’s strike was blocked off the line by a Warrington defender.

However, Warrington forward Dolan would grab his second of the game with twenty minutes to go as he converted from the penalty spot.

Shortly after this, Connor Smythe received his second yellow card from referee Mark Reeves as he claimed to see the defender foul one of the Warrington forwards.

Two minutes later, the away side was awarded another penalty. Sedge keeper Jordan Porter saved the strike and had thought he had kept his side in the match but unfortunately it did not.

Seconds after the saved penalty, Kane Drummond scored his second of the match which extended Warrington’s lead and destroyed Sedge’s hopes of getting back into the game.
From then on, Dolan would complete his hat trick with ten minutes to go and secure all three points for the away side.

Following another home defeat in the league, Sedge will now have to bounce back and be ready for Tuesday’s fixture where they will face FC United of Manchester back at the Clayborn and could very well be a fixture to remember.
